How it's calculated
Each add tier has a base bid range as a percent of your remaining budget:
- league-winner: 40%–75%
- solid-starter: 15%–35%
- role-player: 5%–15%
- speculative: 1%–5%
That range is scaled by a weeks-left factor (0.5x–1.15x, from weeks remaining ÷ 14), then applied to your remaining budget:
bid = remaining budget × (tier % × weeks-left factor)

What is FAAB?
Free Agent Acquisition Budget: instead of a waiver priority order, each team gets a fixed budget (often $100 or $1,000 in points) for the season and bids blind on free agents. Highest bid wins the player; the amount is deducted from that team's remaining budget for the rest of the season.
Why does the suggested bid change based on weeks remaining?
A stash with the whole season ahead has more time to pay off than the same add in week 13 of a 14-week season -- so this calculator scales the tier's base percentage by how many weeks are left relative to a full 14-week season, floored at 0.5x and capped at 1.15x so the adjustment nudges the range rather than swinging it wildly.
This isn't based on the same ADP data as the rest of the site -- why?
There's no real, public data source for what a given waiver-wire player is worth on a specific Tuesday morning -- ADP reflects preseason and in-season draft behavior, not week-to-week free agency. This calculator is a stated budgeting formula (tier percentage x weeks-left factor), not a value-curve lookup, and it says so plainly rather than borrowing a number that doesn't really apply.
Should I ever bid my entire remaining budget?
This tool never suggests more than 100% of your remaining budget, and its top tier caps out well under that -- going all-in on one add is a real strategy some leagues use, but it's a deliberate choice this calculator won't make for you.
