How it's calculated
Every player's trade value starts from their real average draft position (ADP) in the scoring format you've selected, pulled from Fantasy Football Calculator. That rank runs through one shared value curve:

Each side's total is just the sum of its players' values. The verdict compares the gap between the two totals against the larger side's total: within 10% is "fair," up to 30% is a "slight edge," and anything beyond that is "lopsided."
Worked example
A real 2-for-2, PPR, 1-QB trade: Side A gives Tee Higgins and Christian Watson; Side B gives Malik Nabers and Kyren Williams.

That's a 22.8% gap on the larger side's total. Add the same four players to the calculator above (PPR, 1-QB) and it lands on the same numbers to the point; that reconciliation is checked in the site's own test suite, not just written here.

Where do the player values on this site come from?
Every value starts from real, current average draft position (ADP) data from Fantasy Football Calculator (fantasyfootballcalculator.com), refreshed regularly -- currently as of 2026-09-17. This site is not affiliated with FantasyCalc.com and does not use their proprietary trade values; see the About page for why.
How is a player's trade value actually calculated from their ADP?
Real ADP is a rank (roughly, the average pick number real drafters take them at). This site runs that rank through a smooth exponential decay curve -- value = 10,000 x 0.97754^(rank - 1) -- so an early first-round player is worth many times a late-bench player, the same general shape every public trade-value tool uses. What counts as a "fair" trade?
Add up each side's total value. If the gap between the two totals is within 10% of the larger side, it's labeled "fair." Up to 30% is a "slight edge" toward the bigger side; beyond that, it's "lopsided." These thresholds are stated plainly, not hidden.
Does this account for my league's exact scoring settings?
Partially. You can toggle PPR, half-PPR or standard scoring, and 1-QB vs. superflex/2-QB rosters, and each toggle uses a real ADP sample built specifically for that format. It can't account for custom settings beyond that (TE premium, bonus scoring, individual defensive players) -- treat the verdict as a starting point for your own league's context, not a final answer.
Why isn't [player X] showing up in search?
Only players with a real ADP entry in Fantasy Football Calculator's current sample are ranked. Kickers and defenses are excluded on purpose (they're almost never meaningfully traded). A very deep bench player or a recent addition may not have enough real draft data yet to appear.
